Final Project Defense Registration Requirements and Procedures

General Requirements for Final Project Defense Registration

  1. Have taken at least 142 credits
  2. Obtain cumulative grade point average (GPA) of not less than 2.50
  3. The number of credits with D grade is no more than 10% of the total required credits of 142 credits without an E grade.
  4. Have passed all courses
  5. Photocopy of TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 450.

 Final Project Defense Registration Procedures

  1. For students who are writing a thesis, they are required to submit the thesis file in .pdf form to the Department of Petroleum Engineering through the administration for a similarity test before registering for the Final Project Defense. The maximum similarity tolerance value is 30% (thirty percent). Students will get similarity check results that have been approved by the Petroleum Engineering Department Administration.
  2. Students who register for the final project defense must fill out the e-form by preparing a scanned document file in .pdf form*
  3. Students submit their final project (thesis/scientific article that has been published) to the Department Administration in 4 copies to be given to the examining lecturer by Administration.
  4. Students who write scientific articles must be able to show proof that their paper has been published in an accredited national journal or indexed international journal.
  5. For students who write scientific articles, before the final project defense, submit a report on the results of the development of their scientific journal (thesis report but shorter, format given by the Department of Petroleum Engineering); And
  6. After the requirements are complete, the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Petroleum Engineering Department will schedule a final project defense which will be announced through the Administration of the Petroleum Engineering Department.
  7. Students take the Final Project Defense according to the schedule published by the Petroleum Engineering Department.

 Final Project Defense files scanned as .pdf documents that must be prepared include:

  • Document proof of consultation with Final Project Advisor
  • Approval letter for Final Project Defense
  • Thesis cover that has been signed by the thesis advisor/published scientific journal
  • High school certificate
  • 4 X 6 passport photo
  • Study Card (only contain Final Project course)
  • ID CARD
  • Student Card
  • TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 450
  • Transcript that has been approved by the TU Petroleum Engineering Department Administration
  • Proof of Payment for the current semester
  • Payment History from CBIS
  • Bidikmisi Certificate
  • Practical Work Certificate
  • Final Project Certificate
  • Proof of Comprehensive Grade (Comprehensive Certificate)
  • Stamped and signed statement of willingness to complete the thesis revision (for those whose final project is a thesis)
  • Final Thesis Draft (part of the letter of authenticity of the scientific work that has been signed and stamped)
  • Final Thesis Defense Presentation Slides
  • Email address
  • Thesis Registration Form
  • Similarity check results that have been approved by the Petroleum Engineering Department Administration.

Final Project Defense Procedures

  1. The Final Project Defense is held in a forum consisting of 4 (four) people consisting of: Lecturers appointed by the Head of the Department as Chair of the Session and also as examiners; Supervisor; and Two examiners, namely permanent lecturers at the study program, other study programs, or other universities and/or practitioners from industry or government agencies/agencies according to their competence.
  2. The Final Project Defense is carried out orally with the aim of evaluating students in their mastery of knowledge and its application according to their field of expertise
