The Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering curriculum aims to achieve the following learning objectives:

- Applying science and/or technology in the field of expertise through scientific reasoning based on logical, critical, systematic and innovative thinking
- Examine knowledge and/or technology in the field of expertise based on scientific principles, or produce design/art work along with its description based on standard design rules or methods, which are prepared in the form of a thesis or final project report
- Publish the results of final assignments or design/art works, which meet scientific writing requirements, and can be accessed by the academic community
- Compile and communicate ideas and information in their scientific field effectively, through various forms of media to the academic community.
Special Skills
- Able to identify reservoir characteristics, determine hydrocarbon content, volumetric reserves, material balance and decline curve
- Able to optimize production and injection rates, as well as forecast reservoir production
- Able to create reservoir simulation modeling to determine optimum reservoir development scenarios
- Able to select and design methods for increasing enchanced oil recovery
- Able to plan vertical, directional and horizontal drilling
- Able to identify drilling problems, prevent and overcome them

- Able to carry out analysis and estimate drilling costs and submit AFE (Authorization for Expenditure)

- Able to run and analyze the results of programs in the Oil and Gas Industry, such as Petrel, CMG, Eclips, OFM, Fekete, IP/GS/Geolog and PetraSim
- Able to measure the physical properties of rocks, fluids, and interpret well logs
- Able to describe rocks and reconstruct structures (traps) and stratigraphic columns
- Able to create subsurface maps (gross, net sand, net pay)
